Truck Crashes Into Home After Driver 'Suffers Medical Event' In Norwalk: FD

Fire officials said a pickup truck crashed into a Norwalk home after the driver "appeared to have suffered a medical event."

NORWALK, CT — A pickup truck crashed into a Norwalk home after the driver suffered a medical event Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Maggio said the crash was reported just after noon at a Rockmere Road home.

According to Maggio, the driver of the pickup truck appeared to have suffered a medical event, which caused the crash.

After removing unstable debris, police and firefighters were able to remove the driver from the truck. The driver was then taken to Norwalk Hospital, Maggio said.

Firefighters temporarily shored up the building to the satisfaction of the city's chief building official after several structural columns were destroyed in the collision, according to Maggio.

The Norwalk Police Department is investigating the crash, Maggio said.
