Verna Roye, 90, Norwalk resident

Verna Roye, age 90 of Norwalk, Connecticut, entered into eternal life on the early morning of June 8, 2013 at home in the company of her husband of 60 years, David N. Roye.

Verna Ellison Roye was born on May 2, 1923, in Tarbaro, NC, to Bill and Lena Ellison. 

Mrs. Roye is survived by a daughter, Annie Wilson Henley of Phenix City, AL; a son, Thurman Wilson Jr. of Danville, VA; and a step-daughter, Renee Hoffman of AZ. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Denise Privott of Phenix City, AL; Terry Wilson Cash of New Haven, CT; Dana Wilson of Norwalk, CT; Thurman Wilson III of South Beach, FL; Thomas Love of Seattle, WA; and Andrew and Kenneth Hoffman of Arizona; 10 great-grandchildren: Trey and Tiffany Privott, of Phenix City, AL; Tiffany and Ryan Wilson of Norwalk, CT;  Chelsea, Timothy and Tyler Cash of New Haven, CT; Byron Wilson of Norwalk, CT; Cynthia and Edward Thomas Love III of Seattle, WA; a loving sister, Helen Artis of Greenville, NC; and a nephew, Tyrone Artis, also of Greenville, NC, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family.
