YW Darien-Norwalk Executive Director Ellen Kirby Leaves

Ellen Kirby, executive director of the YWCA Darien/Norwalk "has decided to depart the YWCA to pursue other endeavors," the organization has announced.
 
"The YWCA staff and Board of Directors are working together to ensure continuity of our programs and events during this transition period," according to an announcement placed on Darien Patch.

Kirby relplaced Nancy Coughlin, who served as interim executive director since June 2010.

Kirby became executive director of the group two years ago, in September 2011. Before that, Kirby was church school director and organized events for clients including the National Audobon Society. Kirby was also a member of the Darien Environmental Protection Commission for five years and was a volunteer in town.

The YWCA Darien-Norwalk recently announced a new board of directors.
