When the Moon Hits Your Eye Like a ... Chocolate Pizza Pie?

The Chocolate Pizza Co. offers a variety, from pizza to wings to drumsticks, all made of candy, pretzels and potato chips.

With Father's Day approaching, why not give dad pizza and wings from the Chocolate Pizza Co.?

The toppings can include nuts, frosting and candy and the pizza is made of chocolate mixed with the English Toffee in a 100-year-old recipe.

The "wings" are potato chips dipped in peanut butter and coated with chocolate.

These treats come from Chocolate Pizza, 435 Coram Ave. The company was founded in 1988 near Syracuse, N.Y., and Paul and Wendy Hahn of Shelton opened their branch in October 2012.

"The signature item is the chocolate pizza. We can customize it," said Wendy Hahn.

"The wings are a buzz around Shelton. People come in and say 'Where are the wings?,'" Hahn said. Another treat are drumsticks, where the sticks are pretzels.

"They make great gifts for all occasions. They make great gifts for dads, grads, teachers and birthdays."

A large pizza is 25 ounces and a small is 14 ounces. Prices range from $5 for small items to $30 for large pizzas.

Hahn said the store is still building its client base but already has a strong following, evidenced by the traffic she got after it snowed on Valentine's Day.

People parked anywhere they could to come in, according to Hahn.

The Chocolate Pizza Co. is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information, visit the company's main website.
