Chief James Baldis of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company has announced the promotions of Engineer Chris Burkett to Lieutenant at West Simsbury station and Firefighter Chris Lilley to Lieutenant at Firetown station. “I am excited to see Chris Lilley and Chris Burkett stepping up to take on this new leadership position as Lieutenants. I know both will contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the department,” Baldis said.
Burkett joined the fire company in 2008 and has been Engineer on Engine 5. He is a state-certified Firefighter II.

Lilley joined the fire company as a cadet and has been a member for 17 years. He is a state-certified Firefighter II and has received the department’s Chief’s Award for his service to the fire company and the Lea Hutchinson Service Award for initiative and capability in the fire service.
