Bank Construction Begins in Simsbury
The Berkshire Bank project received zoning commission approval about six months ago.

Construction has begun on a new Berkshire Bank location in Simsbury, reports the Hartford Courant.
The project received zoning commission approval about six months ago and the bank will be located at 16 Albany Tpke. on the corner of Bushy Hill Road.

The site was formerly occupied by a gas station, which was removed after a gasoline spill at the site sometime before 1997. The party responsible for the contamination is continuing cleanup work on the property.

It has been deemed safe for the bank to be located on the site.
Construction will be completed in the fall.
