Jeff Belanger brings the spooky back to the yuletide time of year with this eerie holiday show. From the origins of the holiday to the monsters and ghosts that lurk in its shadows, Jeff will take you on a multi-media journey of this haunting holiday! Based on his "Creepy Christmas" PBS special and his best-selling book The Fright Before Christmas, this night may just save the holidays from ruin! This program is NOT for young children.

Join Maker-in-Residence, Ava Rodrigues, for a Holiday Mug/Coaster Cricut class!
Ava will teach you some basic and intermediate Cricut functions and you will walk away from class with a holiday mug or coaster design! You will work in two pairs (one pair per machine) to create one or more designs in the software, then learn how to use the Cricut Maker and tools.
Please bring your favorite notebook to take notes or we will have paper and pens for you to use to have a reference to remember your skills!
Space is limited for this class and is for Adults &amp; Teens ages 13+. Please do not attend if you are not registered.
Anyone taking the class will need to fill out an Innovators’ Workshop Liability Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement. You can fill out the forms before training by <a href="https://www.simsburylibrary.info/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IW-Liability-Waiver-and-Hold-Harmless-Agreement-2021.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">downloading here</a>, or arrive early to fill out the paperwork at the start of training in the makerspace.
Interested children and teens can also be trained with an accompanying parent. Children under 18 must have a signed Innovators’ Workshop Minor Liability Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement that can be <a href="https://www.simsburylibrary.info/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Minor-IW-Liability-Waiver-and-Hold-Harmless-Agreement-2022.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">found here</a>. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult who is also trained in the equipment - parent and child can be trained together.

Do you love to cook and try new recipes? 
Come join Cookbook Club at the Library every third Tuesday of the month. We will explore new cuisines each month, share techniques and expand our culinary skills. At this meeting, we will have cookbooks and information available to discuss the cuisine we will be cooking for next month. This month we will be exploring Vietnamese cuisine. Samples of Vietnamese food will be made using the Library's mobile kitchen cart. Vietnamese dishes will be made and shared at the beginning of next months meeting. 
At each Cookbook Club Meeting: 
<ul><li>You must bring a dish to share in order to attend.</li><li>Cookbooks will be available to checkout.</li><li>All dietary restrictions welcome.</li><li>There will be at least one gluten free/vegan option. </li></ul>
If you are unable to attend this month, but would like to participate in next months meeting, you may pick up a cookbook at the circulation desk and email the recipe you plan to bring to Kai at kpietraroia@libraryconnection.info. 
*** PLEASE NOTE: From 6:30pm to 7pm there will be the potluck for last months Holiday dishes. If you do not plan to bring in a Holiday dish, please arrive at 7pm for the start of Vietnamese cuisine. ***
