Conversation and Camaraderie (C&C) is a men's group that has been meeting successfully in Avon for the past two years. Meetings are informal discussions, led by facilitators whose goal is to maintain a safe, welcoming, non-confrontational, and engaging environment for all, where everyone's voice can be heard. This is not a therapy session or a twelve step group. What it IS, though, is an opportunity for older men from varied backgrounds and life experiences to connect and communicate with others.
Topics, chosen in advance, are intended to open discussions for the group to share life lessons, memories, and laughter. Sample topics, some thoughtful, some silly and some just fun include:
- What was a lasting memory from school?
- Who was most influential in shaping you?
- Who was your favorite star in old TV Westerns?
- What is one mistake that taught you a lesson?
