In Case You Missed It: Former Simsbury Superintendent Named to CT Forum's Board

Here's a story we ran before that you might have missed: Former Simsbury Schools Superintendent Diane Ullman named to the CT Forum board.

The following is adapted from an announcement by the Connecticut Forum:

Diane Ullman and Emily Peer-Groves of Simsbury, CT have been appointed to The Connecticut Forum board of directors.

Diane Ullman is a senior advisor and Consultant to District Management Council. She is also the director of the UConn School of Education Administrator Preparation Program. She was previously the superintendent of Simsbury schools. In 2012, she was awarded Connecticut Superintendent of the Year.

Emily Peer-Groves is a senior at Simsbury High School where she is co-captain of the Robotics Team. She is also a member of the CT YOUTH Forum’s Leadership Network.

The other four new appointees are: Bill Knight, principal and chief marketing officer of Adams & Knight; Susan Mackiewicz, global director of internal audit for United Technologies Corporation; Sue Hessel, community volunteer of Lyme, CT; and Wendy Avery, principal of Avery Design.

Other members of The CT Forum Board of Directors include Board Chairwoman Bonnie Malley, executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Phoenix Companies, Akhil Johri, senior vice president and chief financial officer of United Technologies Corporation, William Fish, Jr., partner at Hinckley Allen, and David Daye, managing director of CREC.

The Connecticut Forum is a nonprofit organization that serves Connecticut and beyond with live, unscripted panel discussions among renowned experts and celebrities, and community outreach programs including the Connecticut YOUTH Forum. Its mission: to encourage the free and active exchange of ideas in Forums that inform, challenge, entertain, inspire and build bridges among all people and organizations in our community.

The Connecticut YOUTH Forum operates on a single premise: stereotypes are challenged, prejudices are dispelled and communities are built when we talk, listen and connect. Each year, more than 750 youth from 40 Connecticut high schools connect across geographic, economic, social and racial divides to engage in the activities of the award-winning YOUTH Forum program.
