Diana Ross Birthday: New Push for Simsbury Performance
Sean Lyons continues his effort to convince Diana Ross to perform in Simsbury. Social media push planned for the star's birthday on March 26.
It's been almost two months since Sean Lyons began his campaign to convince Diana Ross to perform in Simsbury and on Tuesday he's ramping up the campaign in honor of the performer's birthday.
Lyons created a Bring Diana Ross to Simsbury Facebook page on February 1 to get the word out that Ross was seeking suggestions for upcoming performances. The page now has over 800 followers.
On March 26, Diana Ross' birthday, Lyons is planning to make a new push for the star perform at the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows this summer.

"Tomorrow in honor of Diana's birthday we'll be celebrating Diana's incredible career achievements by posting even more videos, concert footage, and photos of Diana from throughout her 50 years in show business," Lyons said.
Ross has scheduled a concert date in Boston on August 9.

"We're getting closer," Lyons said. "I want her to know what a great venue the Meadows would be."
The Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows is an outdoor concert pavillion that faces a large open field in Simsbury center with views of Talcott Mountain.
In Lyons' opinion, a "perfect location" for Ross, who formerly lived in Greenwich.
Lyons is hoping to convince the town of Simsbury to join his campaign and he's seeking a promoter for the event if Ross shows interest.
"We'll also be asking fans from around the world to share their Birthday wishes with us and we'll be sharing those on the page as well."
And with those birthday wishes, Lyons will of course give Ross a small dose of encouragement for her to visit Simsbury, Conn.
