Farmington River Reaches Flood Levels

The Farmington River had reached flood levels and is expected to increase to about 13.5 feet, according to a town press release issued on Friday. The north section of Riverside Road was closed Friday, along with Terry's Plain Road and others.

State DOT crews had also placed closed signs at Route 315 at its intersection with Route 10 at 3:30 pm Friday due to a flooded portion near Curtiss Park. Although many motorists simply ignored the signs police said portions would get harder or impossible to navigate before receding.

The river level is not expected to reach homes. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the Simsbury Police Department at 860-658-3100
