To the Editor:
Having served on the Board of Selectmen and being a visible supporter of numerous community activities, John Hampton has a proven track record of making a positive difference. And he has all of the key ingredients to do the same as our State Representative.
And what are the keys to his success? John has brought to Simsbury – and will do the same as State Representative – a unique mix of sound, inspiring leadership and an unyielding focus on his customers – all of us.

To have an effective, responsive and efficient government it needs to be run as a business – and John has the right perspective. He looks at alternatives and solutions before endorsing increases in expenditures or taxes. His approach is confirmed by driving flat town budgets through wise financial practices, regional initiatives and aggressive grant writing.
He also knows his customers. Born and raised in Tariffville, John has commitment to the people he grew up with, who taught him and who provided him with great opportunities. The community work he has done for our seniors, the disabled, our veterans and the active military are just a few of his ‘community roots’ trademarks. And this experience will be leveraged as he assumes more responsibilities at the state level.

And like any strong CEO running a business, John is an open communicator and promotes transparency. No hidden agendas here. He is always available – and truly listens to his customers.
John’s focus on today’s needs coupled with his vision on tomorrow’s landscape is a great combination. Let’s keep the positive momentum going – and elect John Hampton as your State Representative!
