Anyone can bring a flag for retirement, event organizers said.
"Flags collected in towns around the valley will be honorably retired following selected parts of the American Legion's 'Ceremony of Retirement of Unserviceable and Old Colors,'" wrote organizers in an announcement.
Officials said the ceremony lasts about 10 minutes and includes the ceremonial burning of old, worn flags.
A family-friendly event, organizers encourage folks to take pictures.
