The Town’s current library director, Susan Bullock, announced earlier this year that she will be retiring at the end of June. The Town conducted an extensive recruitment process for her replacement which included a nationwide search and three rounds of interviews.

“There were many excellent candidates but Lisa really stood out as someone who can build upon the successes we’ve already experienced under Sue’s leadership,” said Mary Glassman. “The library is one of the treasures of this town and we thank Sue for her dedicated service over the past 17 years and we wish her a healthy and happy retirement.”
Ms. Karim has served for 18 years as director of the LaGrange Association Library in Poughkeepsie, New York. She plans to enhance the Simsbury’s existing roster of programs and to continue to offer events that engage the library, its staff and customers with the community.
