Simsbury Board of Ed Appoints New Henry James Principal

Henry James principal Patricia Peters will retire on June 30.

On March 26, 2013, the Simsbury Board of Education appointed Mr. Jeffrey Pinney to the position of assistant principal at Henry James Memorial School commencing July 1, 2013.  Mr. Pinney will replace current assistant principal, Patricia Peters, who will be retiring June 30, 2013. 

Mr. Pinney has served as a member of the Simsbury High School social studies department since 2011, and taught social studies in Massachusetts for six years prior.   In addition to his teaching experience, Jeff has been a multi-sport coach for twenty-nine (29) seasons.   Mr. Pinney served our country in the Air National Guard for eight (8) years during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  Mr. Pinney received his Bachelor of Arts from Western New England College and his Master of Education from Westfield State College.  He continued at Westfield State College where he received his Master of Education in School Administration.

Simsbury’s superintendent, Matthew Curtis remarked, “Mr. Pinney has distinguished himself as an educator passionate about students and their success.  I am confident that his skills in working with adolescents will be a wonderful complement to the excellence for which Henry James Memorial School is known.”
