Take A Bike Ride With Simsbury Selectmen

In honor of National Bike Month, the Simsbury Board of Selectmen on Wednesday, May 28, is inviting bicyclists to ride with them.

SIMSBURY, CT — Folks can always hang out with the Simsbury Board of Selectmen, as all they have to do is show up for its regular meetings each month.

But residents have a unique opportunity to rub elbows with their leaders this Wednesday, May 28, as part of the annual Simsbury Board of Selectmen Ride.

This popular event allows bicyclists in town to ride with members of Simsbury's top elected board.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with riders gathering at Simsbury Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow St.

From there, the group will ride to Lake Basile on the East Coast Greenway Trail nearby, making for a total round trip of 5 miles.

This event is in celebration of National Bike Month, and it allows constituents to engage with their leaders in a more informal and fun setting.

All ages, skill levels, and bicycles are welcome, with riders asked to bring their bikes ... and helmets.

At the end, selectmen have another incentive for folks to attend: free ice cream.

The ride is free, and no registration is required. For more information, call the Simsbury Public Works Department at 860-658-3222.
