Two U.S. Presidents Have Visited This Simsbury Landmark
This attraction has drawn visitors from all over the world, including some very famous people.
Built as a summer home in 1914 by German-born innovator and businessman Gilbert F. Heublein, the Heublein tower has always been a great place for entertaining.
The approximately 165-foot tower sits atop Talcott Mountain in Simsbury and has had many famous guests, according to the Friends of Heublein Tower website.
Among those notable guests were two U.S. Presidents.

The Republican Party asked General Dwight D. Eisenhower to run for president at the Heublein home while attendees of the event enjoyed the views of the Farmington Valley and Hartford. George H. W. Bush's father, Prescott Bush, was also at the event.
Prior to his presidency, Ronald Reagan also visited the tower sometime in the 1950's, according to the FHT website.
