WEATHER UPDATE: Two Snowstorms To Hit Simsbury
March is expected to come in like a lion with accumulating snow on Sunday into Monday and a snow, ice and rain storm on Tuesday-Thursday.

It hasn’t snowed in almost a week (O.K., we did get flurries yesterday — that just doesn’t count any more), but winter’s planning a grand return for the start of March.
In fact, just write-off the first few days of March: It’s one winter storm after another.

It will remain cold today and Saturday but also dry. That changes beginning Sunday evening.
Three prominent Connecticut meteorologists predict snow for Sunday evening, becoming steadier late at night, and ending Monday morning. That will impact the morning commute and students returning to school.

Before the snowstorm ends, a few inches is expected to accumulate.
And (of course) more snow is forecast for Tuesday night, which will turn to ice, then rain on Wednesday before ending as snow, possibly on Thursday morning. So, more happy commutes.
Spring is rumored to be coming, but we can’t confirm that.

- NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Bob Maxon says several inches of snow will accumulate and predicts this could impact school openings on Monday.
- WTNH News 8’s Gil Simmons wrote that the only good news is when snow ends Monday the temps could hit 40 degrees. Time to break out the beach gear!
