Absentee Ballots Available for Town, School Budget Referendum
Application forms for ballots can be picked up at the Town Clerk's Office or downloaded from the town's website.

Absentee ballots are now available for the May 8 town and school budget referendum.
Ballots became available this week and any registered electors of the Town of Southbury can submit an absentee ballot.
The referendum will ask voters the following two questions, according to the registrar’s office:

QUESTION 1 - “Shall the Town of Southbury appropriate $18,980,055 for the municipal budget and approve the Special Revenue Funds appropriations for the fiscal year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014?”
QUESTION 2 - “Shall the proposed 2013 - 2014 Budget of the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 in the amount of $61,952,264 be adopted?”

The Town Clerk urges voters to remember that obtaining an absentee ballot is a two-step process; first, the voter must complete an application which must be verified by the clerk’s office; and second, an absentee ballot is issued.
Absentee ballots must be mailed to the applicant or may be given only to the applicant in person. Ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office before the close of polls, 8 p.m., on May 8.
Application forms can be picked up in person by anyone at the Town Clerk's Office or can also be downloaded from the Town of Southbury website.
The Town Clerk’s office is located in the Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main St. South, Southbury and is open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
