Absentee Ballots For Southbury Referendum Are Now Available
Absentee ballot applications are available at the Southbury Town Clerk's Office

Absentee ballot applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office for the Town of Southbury 2025-2026 budget and the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 2025-2026 budget for the referendum being held on May 7, 2025. Registered electors of the Town or United States Citizens, who are eighteen years or older and own taxable property assessed at $1000.00 or more on the October 1, 2024 Grand List, can vote in this referendum. Ballots cannot be mailed from the Town Clerk’s office for a referendum.

To obtain an absentee ballot, voters must complete an application. Once the completed application is received and verified by the Town Clerk’s office, a ballot will be issued. Absentee ballots must be given to the applicant in person or to the applicant’s designee. Ballots must be returned to this office before the close of polls, 8:00 P.M. on the day of the referendum. The Absentee Ballot Drop Box will be open to receive ballots located at the Town Hall upper parking lot entrance.
Absentee ballot applications for a referendum are available at the Town Clerk’s office or from the Town of Southbury website at www.southbury-ct.org or the Secretary of State’s website at portal.ct.gov/sots.

This referendum has two questions.
QUESTION #1
“Shall the 2025-2026 budget of the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 in the amount of $90,777,524 be adopted?”
QUESTION #2
“Shall the Town of Southbury appropriate $24,426,644 for the municipal budget and approve the Special Revenue Fund appropriations for the fiscal year July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026?”
The Town Clerk’s Office is located at Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Those seeking additional information or an application may call the office at 203-262-0657.
