Boater Rescued From Lake Zoar

A river rescue took place Friday morning in Southbury.

A boat was overturned in the Southbury section of Lake Zoar near the Rochambeau Bridge shortly after 8 a.m. Friday. The lone occupant of the boat reportedly got on top of the vessel after it overturned, according to Southbury Firefighter Lieutenant Jason Decremer.

The Southbury Fire Department and Newtown Dive Rescue were called to the scene and the occupant was removed from the river with no complications and no injuries, according to Decremer.
