First Day Nature Hike with Southbury Land Trust

Naturalist Jim Sirch leads an educational hike focusing on local wildlife, their seasonal habitat and behaviors. Jim recently retired from the Yale-Peabody Museum where he served as Naturalist and Education Coordinator. Jim is also a master gardener, writes a popular nature blog, "Beyond Your Back Door," and is a board member of his local land trust. This free hike is family friendly. Hike difficulty: Moderate with hilly terrain, ups and downs. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Bring water if desired. Hike Duration: Approximately 1-hour. Hike length: Approximately Two miles, in and back.
