CT's Lindsey Jacobellis Wins 2nd Olympic Gold Medal
The 36-year-old won gold in Mixed Team Snowboard Cross.

ROXBURY, CT — Lindsey Jacobellis, a gold medal winner just days ago in women's snowboard cross, won a second Olympic gold medal Saturday in mixed team snowboard cross at the 2022 Beijing Games, as seen in the U.S. on NBC Sports Friday night.
Jacobellis, 36, teamed with 40-year-old Nick Baumgartner in the relay-type event. In mixed team snowboard cross, a male snowboarder races the course, sets a time, and then a female teammate rides the same course with a staggered time advantage or disadvantage based on the first rider's time.
This is the first Winter Olympics with the mixed snowboard cross race.

The victory was the first Olympic medal for Baumgartner, who, like Jacobellis, is a veteran of multiple Winter Games. He is the oldest American competitor at the 2022 Beijing Games, and the oldest American Olympic snowboarder in U.S. history, according to The New York Times.
The duo defeated the Italian team, which won the silver, and the Canadian team, which took the bronze.
