Here is Orrico's biography from the induction program:
Jaimie Orrico was destined to be a successful field hockey player. Growing up in a field hockey town with an extremely talented older sister gave Jaimie the foundation she needed to excel. It also helped that she started playing field hockey at a summer camp in 4th grade that was coached by Hall of Fame legend Linda Dirga!
Jaimie was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn a lot about field hockey by watching her older sister, Heather, and she can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to play the sport. At Pomperaug High School, Jaimie was a three-sport athlete, playing field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. By the end of her high school career, she tallied 65 goals and 82 assists in field hockey and her team recorded a best conference record of 9-1 and best team record of 19-2 in her senior season (2007). Although her team ended up losing to Darien in the state championship that year, Jaimie learned a lot from the experience and she achieved many personal successes. She was a four-year letter winner and captain in both field hockey and lacrosse and she was named the 2007 Coca-Cola Connecticut Player of the year and the Hartford Courant Player of the Year in 2007. She was an All-State and All-Southwest Conference first team selection from 2005-2007 and she received NFHCA Regional All-American honors in her junior and senior seasons. She was selected as the Most Valuable Player of Team West in the 2007 Senior All-Star game and she was the MVP of the SWC championship game in 2006.
Outside of her school team, Jaimie participated in the Futures program for several years and she also played with the Cape Ann Coalition team. Jaimie excelled in lacrosse at Pomperaug as well, scoring 167 career goals overall. She was a first-team All-Colonial Division lacrosse selection in 2007, earned 2nd team All-State honors and Academic All-American honors in 2008 and was also named to the Southwest All-Conference team in 2006, 2007, and 2008. Jaimie also played basketball for three years in high school, helping her team to a SWC title in 2005.
Jaimie went on to play field hockey for Tracey Fuchs at Northwestern University, where she continued to excel and grow her skills. She was a versatile player for NU, moving from midfield to defense depending on what the team needed. She contributed to the program right away, starting in 60 of the 78 games she played in. Jaimie helped to develop the success of the program, moving them from a 7-13 record her freshman year to a 12-9 record by her senior year. As a team captain her senior season, Jaimie helped lead her team to the most wins in a decade and a #9 national ranking. She ended her final season as the Big Ten regular season runner up.
After graduating with a BS in Communications in 2012, Jaimie went on to a successful career in finance, working for J.P. Morgan and U.S. Bank. Before becoming a parent, Jaimie served as Vice President of Foreign Exchange Corporate Sales at U.S. Bank. She currently resides in Darien with her husband Brian Farris and their son Eli.
