Free Cholesterol Screenings Taking Place at Southbury ShopRite
All screenings are free and open to the public.

In honor of American Heart Month, ShopRite is providing free cholesterol screenings throughout February.
Screenings are free and everyone is welcome. No appointments or fasting is needed, according to a press release from ShopRite.

“Heart disease is the nation’s number one cause of death,” said Natalie Menza, Manager of Health and Wellness at ShopRite. “Getting screened and knowing your cholesterol numbers can save your life, which is why we’re proud to be offering this important preventative care service to our customers.”
ShopRite began offering free cholesterol screenings in 2010, and screens approximately 18,000 people per year.

“Health and wellness initiatives remain a top priority for ShopRite, and our goal is to continue to provide our customers with the best available tools and information when it comes to their health,” Menza said.
The cholesterol screenings are part of ShopRite’s ongoing commitment to providing a full suite of preventative care services to its customers, which include free flu shots, blood pressure monitoring stations, and (in most locations), dedicated in-store registered dietitians who are on hand to assist customers with all their health and wellness needs via personal consultations, store tours, educational services and group classes.
