The Friends has been around for many years as the town’s pound continues to decline, the Rep-Am reported. Last week, the town’s boards of Finance and Selectmen agreed to make money available for engineering and design plans for the new shelter.
Officials have said the facility needs some serious upgrades and improvements, and the cost to do so with the new facility can range anywhere from $625,000 to over $1 million.
