With the damp rainy days of the past week given way to sunshine and blue skies, residents across Southbury have begun directing their attention to their yards and gardens.
Hardware stores and garden centers across town are buzzing with activity, with no business busier than Krikit’s, the seasonal outdoor plant and garden shop on Southford Road.
“As long as it’s sunny out people are out here buying plants,” said Krikit’s owner Rich Tomlinson.
As to what Southbury residents are buying, Tomlinson said the bright colors of the season are flying off the shelves.
“Everything with color, if it has color, if it pops, they’re buying it,” he said.
