Southbury Resident Starts New Beard Business

A letter to the editor from the owner reads:

“Beards.

They’re on the rise in popularity and beard culture is here to stay. With that comes proper maintenance. It’s a new sub-culture and it rooting itself into society via social media, movies, and even local and national beard and mustache competitions where the average competitor spends more time on their beard that day than anyone else you know.

My wife and I created Beard & Company last year to provide the beard and non-bearded essentials for everyday life. In our little workshop here in Southbury, we create handmade high-quality and all-natural cologne, beard oil, balm, shampoo, lotion, perfume and more.

Having graduated from Pomperaug only nine years ago, it’s great to see that the community is welcome to new small business. It is our goal to put some entrepreneurial spirit in the youth of our town. Living in Southbury gives us amazing inspiration to live up to other great businesses in the area. We see what people want and that is what we give them, nothing less. This town appreciates quality and it shows it on every shop and every street.
