Canton – Marjorie J. Wilkens, 96, formerly of Heritage Village, Southbury, died Wednesday, March 9, at Cherrybrook Health Care Center in Canton.

She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Wilkens. Mrs. Wilkens was born February 7, 1920, in New York City, daughter of the late Edward J. and Marie (Leicht) Willi. She was raised in the Bronx and graduated from Evander Childs High School. She had lived in Heritage Village for 25 years after living in Bethlehem and Mt. Kisco, N.Y.

She had worked as a medical assistant and x-ray technician while living in New York state, and loved cooking and hunting for bargains. Her favorite pastime was talking with others about their lives. She leaves her son, Raymond E. Wilkens, and his wife, Lynne, of Southbury; two grandchildren, Heather Mogielnicki and her husband, Troy, of Barkhampsted, and Raymond L. Wilkens, and his wife, Michele, of Thomaston, and four great-grandchildren, Trevor and Leah Mogielnicki, and Raymond N. and Sarah Wilkens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury. Calling hours: Tuesday, March 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the daily chapel of the church. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
