Obituary: Mary Louise White, 88, of Heritage Village, Southbury

White was a former resident of Danbury and enjoyed traveling through the United States and Europe.

Mary Louise White, 88, of Heritage Village, Southbury, passed away on January 7, 2016. She was a native and long-time resident of Danbury who attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1946. She was the wife of the late Allwyn M. White for 40 years.

She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed a long and successful business career in real estate as a salesperson and independent broker. For several years she served as secretary of the Danbury Board of Realtors, chaired the Standards Committee of the Connecticut Board of Realtors, and presided as president of the Women’s Council. Over the years, she traveled widely throughout the United States and Europe, enjoyed her retirement home in Southbury, winters in Florida, golf, bridge, her church and a close circle of friends.

Mary White was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mildred McCarthy of Danbury, her sister, Arlene McCarthy, of New York City, and her brother Harold McCarthy Jr. of Danbury. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy White of Norwalk, CT, sons David White and his wife Janine, of Raleigh, NC, Bruce White of Glen Allen, VA and Kevin H. White of Bethel, CT.

She also leaves behind her grandsons David White and his wife Jennifer, of Guilford, CT and Kevin A. White and his wife Jeanette, and two great-grandchildren, Kevin S. White and Keira White of Johns Creek, GA.

A Mass in celebration of her life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southbury, CT, in the spring. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. Condolences may be expressed by visiting the Carpino Funeral Home website.
