Police Continue Search for Southbury Bank Robber
"Some progress" has been made in the investigation into the robbery at Naugatuck Savings Bank one week ago.

One week after a man robbed a Southbury bank, state and local police continue to investigate the incident and search for the suspect.
The Naugatuck Savings Bank, at 363 Main Street South in Southbury, was robbed just before noon last Wednesday, April 3, by a male that implied he had a weapon and demanded money from a teller.
Police are still considering the robbery an ongoing investigation and little details have been released, but a week removed from the incident state police officials did say steps forward have been taken.

“We’ve made some progress,” said Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police. “But there have been no arrests made and no information that can be disseminated to the public right now.”
The suspect is described as a white male, about 30-years-old and six feet tall. Police said a green Honda may be associated with the robbery.

The initial notification of the robbery was made from inside Naugatuck Savings Bank by bank personnel, according to police.
The bank, which sits some 100 yards away from the Southbury Police Department and in the middle of town, was also robbed in April 2011 by four armed gunman.
Vance said multiple bank robberies taking place across the street from a police department is rare, but that not much can be taken from these incidences.
“Its uncommon,” said Vance. “But there’s no definitive reason why criminals choose the locations that they do.”
