The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction will be performed on I-84 in Southbury and Middlebury. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and be completed on Monday, November 30, 2026. The project 0130-0193 consists of pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction on I-84.

CTDOT Project No. 0130-0193 was awarded to Empire Paving, Inc. at a cost of $34,677,000.42 on October 23, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be nighttime lane closures on I-84 from Exit 13 to Exit 16 starting on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Monday, November 30, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns and State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
