Region 15 Officials Announce Plans To Study Enrollment Numbers: Report
The 18-month plan to study enrollment may not necessarily result in any changes.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Pomperaug Region 15 school officials recently announced a plan to study school enrollment patterns to help determine future policy.
A recent article in the Republican American said that enrollment in these schools has fallen by 760 students from a high of 4,572 students during the 2007-2008 school year.
Region 15 Superintendent Regina L. Botsford presented the plan at a Board of Education meeting. The planned 18-month study invites the cooperation of residents and educators in making its final recommendations.

Study results will determine the school district’s next steps, which will not necessarily result in any substantive changes. The results might recommend the possibility of closing schools but could also recommend expanding educational facilities. According to Botsford, the public will be involved in every step of the process.
