Southbury Businesses Hurt by Bridge Closing: Report

Town officials say they are working to help the impacted businesses.

SOUTHBURY, CT – The state Department of Transportation recently ordered the closure of the small bridge on Oak Tree Road to vehicles due to safety concerns.

But local businesses in the area including: Southbury Package Store, Newbury Place, Subway, La Luna Dance Wear, The Wholesome Pet, Southbury Stone and Supply, One Price Dry Cleaners, Southbury Barber Shop and Body Physics are being negatively impacted, the Republican-American reports.

It appears the closure will continue for some time and town officials tell the Rep-Am that they will post signs letting residents know the pedestrian walkway is still usable and that Oak Tree and Bullet Hill roads are still open.
