Southbury Crematory Expansion Approved by Zoning Commission
More steps towards approval are necessary, but this was a big first step.
Southbury Zoning Commission unanimously approved Stone Family Cremation Services’ application to build a 4,000-square-foot crematory on Bullet Hill Road North Wednesday, the Republican-American reported.
Endorsements from other Southbury and state land use boards are necessary before construction can begin, the Rep-Am reported.
The owners received approval from the town to allow for a crematory use in that zone earlier this year. The facility would cremate both human and pet remains in different areas.
