Southbury Hosts Town Wide Tag Sale

Come out to the Green on Saturday for the sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with other activities.

Southbury is hosting a town-wide tag sale on Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Expect a fun-filled day of shopping on the grassy area around the Gazebo in front of the Southbury Green, ShopRite. A sprinkle won’t stop them, but in case of inclement weather on Saturday, the tag sale will be held on Sunday, May 31.

This event is a way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday, since it’s like visiting 140 tag sales all in one place.

In addition to great bargains on personal items, several hand-crafters and home-party vendors will be represented as well. If possible, the SVFA will bring a fire truck to the Green from 10 a.m. to noon. SVFA members will be present to answer questions, and interested parties of all ages are welcome.

The Ladies Auxiliary will be offering coffee, tea and light breakfast items in the morning. Hotdogs will be available at lunchtime. Water, soft drinks and a bake table will be available all day. Proceeds from these items and the Tag Sale will support the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary’s community projects.

All spaces to participate in the sale are sold out, and the Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who is participating, according to their statement. They encourage all those who requested spaces after we became sold out to get in on their next Town-Wide Tag Sale on Sept. 19.

Visit their website in June or July to check for the application.
