Southbury Library Seeking Submissions For 2025 Tiny Art Show

The Southbury Public Library invites interested community members of all ages to submit artwork to their second Tiny Art Show; all submissions must be on supplied 4x4” canvases and are due between Tuesday, April 1, 2025 and Sunday, April 27, 2025. Submitted artwork will be included in a Tiny Art Show on display in the Southbury Library’s Location in the Heritage Hotel from Thursday, May 1, 2025 through Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Submission requirements:

Plain 4x4” canvases will be available for pickup during library open hours starting Tuesday, April 1 from the Southbury Library’s Location in the Heritage Hotel and continuing throughout the submission period. Limited amounts of kits with canvases, acrylic paint, and brushes will be available to be picked up on a first come, first serve basis beginning on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

The Southbury Public Library will be hosting drop-in paint sessions for those who would like to work in a supportive group environment on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in the Mat Room of the Southbury Parks & Recreation Building at 561 Main Street South in Southbury. There will be a 3:30-4:30pm session for adults, a 4:30-5:30pm session for children, teens, and families, and a 5:30-6:30pm session for Grades 6-12. Supplies including canvases and paint will be available during the drop-in paint sessions; no registration is required.

All submissions are due by 5:00 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025 to the Southbury Library’s Location in the Heritage Hotel at 522 Heritage Road, Southbury, CT 06488. The library’s temporary location in the Heritage Hotel is open the following hours: 11:00am-5:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; 11:00am-7:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays; 11:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays; 1:00pm-5:00pm on Sundays.

Artwork will be on display in the Southbury Library’s Location in the Heritage Hotel beginning Thursday, May 1, 2025 and continuing through Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Materials used included paint, colored pencils, crayons, encaustic wax, 3d pens, egg shells, beads, handmade marbled paper, polymer clay, and more.
