Southbury Man Charged After Fight Inside Courthouse

Ricardo Cruz, 46, of Southbury, was charged with second-degree breach of peace on March 18 at approximately 2:45 p.m.

According to police, state troopers were dispatched to Waterbury Superior Court, 300 Grand Street in Waterbury, regarding a disturbance between two males.

Cruz and Ricardo Ojeda, 42, of South Windsor, were involved in a physical altercation while inside the courthouse, police said.

Cruz and Ojeda were released on $1,000 non-surety bond and are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 27.
