Southbury Public Library Basement Renovations Start Soon
After an architect finalizes the renovation plans, work will start on the library in the next couple weeks.

In order to have the renovations done in time for the upcoming fall book sale at the Southbury Public Library, architect Hugh Sullivan will finalize the plans for the basement renovation shortly, according to the Republican-American.
Book sales held in the library’s basement have generated a lot of funds for the library, but were stopped last year after the fire marshal declared the 20,000-square-foot space unsuitable for anything other than storage, the Rep-Am reported.
An estimated cost of $75,000 worth of improvements will be funded by the library’s gift fund, which is managed by the library board, the Rep-Am reported.
