Southbury Riverbank Project Gets Approval
The project will not only fix the riverbank erosion problem, but will also cost the town very little to fix.

Pomperaug River at Ballantine Park has long thought to have been at risk from the riverbank erosion issues, since the steep bank, which hangs about 40 feet above the river, has been losing soil and vegetation to the water, the Republican-American reported.
But the issues will now be addressed since a plan has been approved and is underway, which includes installing plantings to help stabilize the erosion, the Rep-Am reported.
Money for the work will come from a $180,000 grant awarded to the town back in 2009 from General Electric Inc.
