Southbury Town Charter, Ordinances and Regulations Now Online

New site also gives visitors increased search capabilities around the clock.

In a continuing effort to put all available resources online the town announced Wednesday that the Southbury Code is now available online.

“Making this information available to the public online means that citizens can get their questions answered quickly, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said a release from the First Selectman’s Office.

Southbury has contracted with Municipal Code Corporation (Municode) to provide access and an interface to the Southbury Code Library. The Municode site allows website visitors to navigate to, print, save, e-mail and link to desired sections of the Online Code with greater efficiency.

Municode will host the Town Charter, Code of Ordinances, Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Regulations, Subdivision Regulations, Zoning Regulations and Aquifer Protection Regulations. The site also gives visitors increased search capabilities.

The Code is searchable by keyword, phrase, and article or section number to find desirable content. These codes are available on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The Code is accessible via a separate button on the town’s website homepage, titled “Charter, Ordinances & Regulations” or at www.southbury-ct.org/code. Any part of the Code that has been adopted, but not yet codified is listed separately there.

Comments or questions about the online Town of Southbury Code should be directed to the Town Clerk at townclerk@southbury-ct.gov or (203) 262-0657.
