Southbury Woman Charged With Medicare Fraud

She is charged with fraudulently billing the state 15 times, which is worth more than $10,000.

Kristie Gannon, 39, of Southbury, was charged with defrauding a public community, insurance fraud and forgery on Friday after continuing to collect Medicaid payments for care she wasn’t providing, according to Fox CT.

Funds Gannon collected were supposed to go toward the care for her brother, who had previously lived with her, Fox CT reported. Her brother had moved out of her house to Maine, but she continued to bill the state after he left.

She allegedly billed the state 15 times, equating to about $10,865, from January to August of 2013, Fox CT reported. She was released on a $10,000 bond and will appear in Hartford Superior Court on June 18.
