Taylor Swift Popular Amongst Southbury’s Young Musicians
Swift, the pop and country music sensation, is a hit for the area youth at The Southbury Music Studio.

Whether it’s “Teardrops on My Guitar”, “You Belong With Me” or “Our Song”, one of Taylor Swift’s megahits are far and away the most common selection for local young musicians to learn while honing their craft.
The words of Swift, and Adele at a distant second, are what first timers and young music pros alike are singing, strumming and drumming to shape their musical skills, according to Victoria Chiera, a voice teacher at The Southbury Music Studio.
It was an easy answer for Chiera, who immediately said Swift when thinking of top songs played in the studio. Chiera added the most popular instruments amongst young musicians that take lessons at the studio are guitar and piano.

“They are the easiest to pick up,” said Chiera. “Piano is the easiest instrument for young ones and guitars are not too expensive an instrument to own.”
The Southbury Music Studio is located in the Southbury Plaza, at 100 Main Street North, and offers professional instruction in piano, guitar, drums, trumpet, trombone, tuba, violin, cello and upright bass and voice lessons.
