Teen Steals Car in Southbury, Leads Police on Foot Chase
The following arrest information was supplied by the Southbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A sixteen-year-old minor was charged with illegal possession of narcotics, third-degree larceny and interfering with an officer on March 9 at approximately 6:42 a.m.
According to police, Southbury officers responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle at Fairview Commons in Southbury. Officers later observed the vehicle on Rt. 67 and when they attempting to stop the vehicle, the juvenile fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect after a brief foot chase. The suspect was found to be in possession of a small amount of crack cocaine.
Police are investigating other similar thefts in the area that are likely related.

The juvenile was released to his guardian and is to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court at a later date, according to police.

Robert Brinley, 37, of Southbury, was charged with DUI and traveling unreasonably fast on March 9 at approximately 12:52 after police observed him driving at a high rate of speed before loosing control of the vehicle and striking a tree and lamp post on Old Field Road in Southbury.
Brinley was released on 2,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 20.
