Join Southington HS For Special Performances of 'Rudolph' This Week

SOUTHINGTON, CT — One of the annual rites of Christmas is the famous television special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," which has delighted families since the mid-1960s.

Later this week, area families will be able to see local high school students perform the classic TV special's songs and act out the beloved story on stage.

The Southington High School Drama Club on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6, will be performing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical Jr." at SHS, which is located at 720 Pleasant St.

One show will take place Friday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m., with two shows set for Saturday, Dec. 6 — one at 2 p.m. and another showing at 6:30 p.m.

At $10 each, tickets are inexpensive, and the shows are a perfect way for families to kick off their holiday observances locally.

They can be purchased online or at the door before each of the shows.

The SHS Drama Club is the school's popular youth theater organization that puts on multiple shows during the year, earning a spot in the hearts of locals.
