SOUTHINGTON, CT — A situation regarding Southington's final election numbers resulted in only part of the precincts being published on the Connecticut Secretary of the State's website Wednesday.

As a result, numbers posted for much of Wednesday were not reflective of the final vote tallies in Southington.

Those tallies were published in full later in the evening, and they showed that while the GOP still controls the Southington Town Council, the Democrats evened out the finance board and took control of the board of education.

"Congratulations to all our candidates, those re-elected, newly elected, and those who ran with passion and integrity to serve our community. We are proud of this dedicated team and all they have accomplished.

"While we celebrate these results, we know the work continues, and we remain committed to serving Southington with transparency, accountability, and a focus on our community’s future."
