Lake Compounce To Dazzle Night Sky With First-Ever Drone Show
America’s First Amusement Park Adds More Summer Days & Introduces New Terrifying Phantom Fall Fest Haunts
BRISTOL, CONN. – There are still plenty of days left to play at Lake Compounce Amusement Park with an all-new drone show, three more days to enjoy everyone’s favorite roller coasters before heading back to school and even more horrifying upgrades coming to the park’s Halloween event, Phantom Fall Fest.
This Labor Day Weekend, The Official Park of Family Fun will host its first-ever drone show offering a dazzling display of more than 300 drones coming together to create unique designs highlighting beloved park staples. The drones will take the sky above the lake on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 just after 8 p.m. To celebrate the park’s first-ever drone show, Lake Compounce is calling on its guests to help select one of the show’s unique designs. Voting is open now on the park’s website, Facebook and Instagram through August 16. Design options include Ghost Hunt, Compounce Railway, Kyle the Crocodile and a carousel horse.
Plus, America’s First Amusement Park will close out the summer season with three additional operating days for thrill-seekers to enjoy their favorite amusement park rides. The theme park section of Lake Compounce will now be open from Monday, August 26 through Wednesday, August 28 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. with select rides available for thrill-seekers to enjoy.
“The park’s first-ever drone show is sure to be one of our most spectacular shows of the summer season,” said Lake Compounce General Manager Doug Hemphill. “Plus, there is still so much in store for our visitors looking to enjoy even more rides on the re-tracked Wildcat and Boulder Dash roller coasters, beloved Ghost Hunt and more with three weekdays added to our calendar just before the first day of school, it’s the perfect time to bring the kids out and enjoy the final days of summer.”
Lake Compounce’s season is not over yet! This fall, when the sun goes down, the fear kicks into gear beginning Saturday, September 21 as Phantom Fall Fest makes scream dreams come true with all-new frights every weekend. This year, the phantom is taking screams to the extreme with four sinister haunted houses including two brand new chilling haunt experiences, details include:
· Bloodcraft (NEW) – A new terror has been summoned from the darkness as evil has corrupted all it has touched and nowhere is safe.
· Malignant: Overgrown Evil (NEW) – The roots of evil have spread and taken over an abandoned garden to cultivate a new nest of horror. The evil has called forth dire creatures to its new home, and summoned others from the earth below. Guests must navigate the vines and fog to escape the terror the grows around them.
· mAlice in Wonderland 3D – Fears are taken to the extreme in this three-dimensional rabbit hole where the evil inhabitants of this twisted Wonderland await to shock, awe and challenge every step through the twisted labyrinth of Wonderland.
· MediEvil – The only way out is to face judgement from the Inquisitor through soul-wrenching torture throughout this medieval chamber of chaos, filled with never-ending punishment and no way to escape the dark fate that lies ahead.
To prepare for Phantom Fall Fest, the park is currently hiring nearly 200 Team Members across all positions including scare actors, ride operators, food and beverage and more. With flexible hours and growth opportunities, Lake Compounce offers unique positions for everyone including those looking to make additional money ahead of the holiday season, teens looking for a weekend job and more.
Phantom Fall Fest will feature daytime entertainment for guests of all ages including trick or treating, a slime station, pumpkin painting and more. The day to night Halloween event will run Saturdays from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., September 21 through October 27 plus every Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. October 4 through 25.
