9/11 Ceremonies In Stamford: Police, Firefighters To Host Events
The public is invited to observe the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks at events hosted by emergency responders on Saturday.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department and Stamford Professional Firefighters Association will host ceremonies this Saturday to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The Stamford Police Department will host a ceremony on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the flagpole in front of Stamford Police Headquarters at 725 Bedford Street. The opening will be followed by a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. (when the first tower was attacked), and it will conclude with a prayer delivered by the Rev. John Revell, Stamford Police Department Police Chaplain.

"All are invited to attend and join us as we pay tribute on this solemn day," the department wrote on Facebook.

The Stamford Professional Firefighters Association will observe the 20th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center on Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. at the Woodside Fire Station, 1620 Washington Blvd.
Attendees can park at Scalzi Park and walk across the pedestrian bridge, as there is no public parking at the fire station, the association wrote on Facebook.
