'The Age of Love' for Stamford Senior Citizens

Just for Stamford seniors — Speed-dating and a film.

Is it ever too late to date? In an effort to show that love has no age limit, the community is invited to attend a free movie screening of The Age of Love.

The documentary follows the illuminating adventures of 30 older adults who attend a first-of-its-kind Speed Dating event exclusively for 70- to 90-year-olds. Presented by SilverSource, Inc. and the Stamford Senior Center, the film will be shown on Friday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Franklin Auditorium at the Stamford Senior Center, at 888 Washington Blvd.

Refreshments will be served, and after the film, eligible attendees will be encouraged to sign up for Senior Speed Dating, which will be held on Friday, March 11. To save your spot at the film screening, send an email to ccrain@stamfordct.gov or call 203-977-5151.

“This ground-breaking film is appealing to everyone,” said Christina Crain, Executive Director of the Stamford Senior Center. “The seniors that appear in The Age of Love are just as nervous about dating at this stage of life as they were for their first date. By understanding this generation before the Baby Boomers, we will find lessons for us all.”

The speed dating event planned by SilverSource and the Stamford Senior Center at 2 p.m. March 11 is for seniors between the ages of 70–90. Participants will have the opportunity to meet a number of eligible singles in a safe and comfortable environment at the Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien. The registration fee is $10 and refreshments will be served. Register online at www.stamfordseniorct.org or in person at the Stamford Senior Center, 888 Washington Blvd., Stamford.
