Greenwich Ave At S State St. Reopens After 'Large Diesel Spill'
Officials were unable to determine the cause of the spill, which caused traffic and disruptions Thursday morning, police said.
STAMFORD, CT — Greenwich Avenue at South State Street has reopened after a "large diesel spill" under the railroad bridge caused traffic and disruptions Thursday morning.
Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials were at the scene, but they could not determine where the spill originated from, News12 reported.
At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, the Stamford Police Department police tweeted that motorists should avoid the area for "the next couple hours."

"Northbound traffic coming from Pulaski Street is being diverted and there is heavy traffic due to vehicles coming off of I-95," the department tweeted.
